Call for Working Group Topic Proposals
The seven founding universities of the Chile-Germany Academic Forum — Technische Universität Berlin (TU Berlin), Universität Heidelberg (UH), Universität Hamburg (UHH), Karlsruher Institut für Technologie (KIT), Universidad de Chile (UCH), Universidad de Concepción (UdeC), and Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (UC) — are pleased to announce the Call for Working Group (WG) Proposals for the 3rd Chile-Germany Academic Forum, to be held in Santiago, Chile, from April 5–7, 2027, and co-hosted by UCH, UdeC, and UC.

- 22nd June 2026 Deadline for WG applications
Who Can Apply?
Researchers holding a PhD and employed by a member university of the Chile-Germany Academic Forum are eligible to apply as Principal Investigators (PIs). Each proposal must be jointly led by at least one PI from a German member university and one PI from a Chilean member university.
Working Group proposals will be evaluated based on:
- Appeal – Potential to attract participants and engage a broad audience.
- Interdisciplinarity – Involvement of different academic disciplines.
- Relevance – Contribution to key Chilean-German or global challenges.
- Feasibility – Realistic plans for achieving tangible outcomes during and after the Forum.
- Collaboration Potential – Capacity to generate or strengthen long-term cooperation between Chilean and German institutions through joint research, publications, funding opportunities, knowledge transfer, educational initiatives, or societal impact.
Responsibilities of Selected PIs
Selected Working Group leaders will:
- Organize and moderate WG activities during the Forum.
- Promote participation in their WG.
- Submit a detailed WG program before the event.
- Present key outcomes and a collaboration roadmap at the Forum's closing session.
