Program description

This course is designed for higher education instructors seeking to expand their knowledge in Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL).

This comprehensive program equips educators with the essential principles, strategies, and practical tools required to implement the CLIL approach effectively in their classrooms. Through a combination of theoretical frameworks, case studies, and hands-on activities, participants will gain a deep understanding of the CLIL approach, enabling them to seamlessly integrate language and content instruction in their teaching practice. By the end of the course, participants will receive a certificate from both, University of Chile and Heidelberg University.

Eligible to apply are:

  • University lecturers teaching disciplinary subjects in different areas of knowledge, science and technology. 
  • University lecturers teaching a second or foreign language, who wish to know the CLIL approach to enrich their classes with specific disciplinary content.
  • Undergraduate and graduate students who wish to train in the CLIL approach and enrich their pedagogical profile, teaching both content and a foreign language.
  • Professionals in the field of education who seek to obtein tools to improve their teaching practices through the CLIL approach

Structure of the course

  • Duration of the course: 10 weeks.
  • Modality: online, self-learning with 10 synchronous sessions with tutors.

Learning outcomes

Students will be able to apply CLIL principles to plan a course unit, using authentic materials and designing activities that incorporate the four C’s of CLIL (Communication, Culture, Cognition, Content).

Fees

The total cost of the course is 300.000 CLP (around 360 USD)
A minimum of participants is required to teach this course.
