HCLACooperation

As a Center of Excellence in Research and Teaching, the Heidelberg Center for Latin America promotes the internationalization of German higher education, fosters the creation of cutting-edge research networks between international and German scientists, and promotes cooperative and collaborative teaching in structured programs with leading Latin American universities.

In the areas of geosciences, astronomy, law, medical informatics or medical physics, the HCLA cooperates in particular with the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, the Universidad de Chile and the Red Astronomía within Chile; and with the Haus der Astronomie, the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) and the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law (MPIL) in Germany.

In order to promote practical experiences for its students, the HCLA has an extensive network of cooperations with institutions and companies in Germany and Chile, as well as with various cultural organizations and organizations that promote internationalization.
