Communication StudiesPublic Discourses on the Covid-19 Pandemic in Ibero-America

Through the analysis of discourses and the empirical verification of their effects, the project “Public Discourses on the Covid-19 Pandemic in Ibero-America” researches the processes involved in the social construction of knowledge and the perception of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The project is an international, interdisciplinary and multi-method cooperation that observes the discursive strategies used for the construction of social representations from their different dimensions, as well as the forms of reception and perception of discourses, and the attitudes they trigger in their recipients.

The project came together as a collaboration between the Heidelberg Centre for Ibero-American Studies (HCIAS), the Heidelberg Center Latin America (HCLA), both from Heidelberg University (Germany), the Institute of Communication and Image, Universidad de Chile (Chile), and the Institute of Linguistics, Universidad de Buenos Aires (Argentina).
