Visit of Alumni in Medical Physics

On Feb. 27th and 28th 2023, three alumni from the second and third generation of the Master’s program in Medical Physics of Heidelberg University (UHD) and the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile (UC) visited the Division of Medical Physics in Radiation Oncology at the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) in Heidelberg, Germany. During the first day, they visited the Heidelberg Ion Beam Therapy Center (HIT). Furthermore, they got an insight into the new EHTOS Linac at DKFZ as well as an overview of anthropomorphic phantoms, developed in the research group “Medical Engineering” at DKFZ.

The second day focused on patient treatments at Heidelberg University Hospital in the Department of Radiation Oncology and Radiation Therapy. They had the opportunity to follow treatments at the MR Linac, the Cyberknife as well as the Tomotherapy.

Camila Rioseco works at MedAustron in Vienna (Austria). Gabriela Chorbadjian and Claudia Morales work at the Instituto de Salud Pública de Chile.
