Translating Sustainability
The objective of the course is to develop specialized skills in the participants for effective translation and communication of topics related to climate change and sustainability, focusing on business and corporate communication, and empowering the participants to face the emerging challenges in this field.
- Aimed at students, researchers and professionals such as translators, journalists, communication experts, interpreters and of related areas.
- Online course: 24 teaching hours, consisting of two sessions per week, 2 tutoring sessions of 2 hours and 36 hours of independent study.
- Date: September 28th to October 26th
- Hours: Tuesday, 18:30 - 20:30 h and Saturday, 10:00 - 13:00 h (Chile time).
- Taught in English and Spanish, by professors from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, the University of Heidelberg and external experts.
- Certification: Those who successfully complete the course will receive a participation certification from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and HeiSKILLS, the Competence and Language Center of the University of Heidelberg.

Structure of the course
The program is structured into two main thematic blocks of great relevance: heritage conservation and renewable energies. Each block (module) is developed in two weeks with two sessions per week, as well as a final session to resolve any questions in individual tutorials.
Registration requirements
Intermediate knowledge of English (B1 or higher) and undergraduate, bachelor's degree or equivalent* in Communication, Social Studies, Cultural Studies, Language, Literature, Translation and Interpretation, Journalism, Advertising, International Relations, Linguistics, Philology, Philosophy, Social Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, Human Resources or Political Science who wish to train specifically as experts in translation and communication management in the field of sustainability. Undergraduate, bachelor's degree or equivalent in other areas other than those mentioned demonstrating relevant professional experience or final year undergraduate students from the mentioned areas.
Fees
- $220,000 CLP - regular fee
- $190,000 CLP - students and alumni HCLA
