Heidelberg Center Latin America

The Heidelberg Center for Latin America (HCLA) is the Latin American campus of Heidelberg University and a Center of Excellence for Research and Teaching. Founded in Santiago de Chile in 2002, the Center was established to connect people and ideas. It serves as the primary gateway to Heidelberg University for researchers in the region, educates professionals seeking to internationalize their profiles, and facilitates collaborative scientific activities between Heidelberg and Latin America. Since 2009, the HCLA has been part of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) network of Centers of Excellence.

German Language Courses

The German Department of the HCLA offers German language courses to accompany your studies. Students, lecturers and researchers are offered the opportunity to acquire German language skills tailored to their needs. The German program includes language courses at basic and intermediate levels of different intensity, grammar and conversation courses, and a subject-oriented language course in law.
